Israel, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran

Steve Schippert at ThreatsWatch has a good overview of the current Israeli game plan and the broader strategic position of Iran and Syria.  He doesn't see Iran or Syria joining the fray. We can hope that Hezbollah is "on the ropes," as he suggests.  For an update on the apparently successful Bekaa raid, see Bill Roggio at Counterterroism Blog.  Some good thoughts from Michael Totten  (and interesting comments following) regarding the likely aftermath, particularly that the Shia may now be encouraged to work within the political establishment rather than joining up with a terrorist organization (Hezbollah) as they have in the past.
